A JUDGE has dismissed as "groundless" allegations made by the former book-keeper of a prominent city auctioneer that he had twice raped her.
At Limerick Circuit Court on Thursday, Judge James O'Donohue dismissed the appeal of Annette Egan, of Carey's Road, who had claimed at the Employment Appeals Tribunal in December 2006 that she had been unfairly dismissed by John Shaw.

Ms Egan, who had worked for Mr Shaw for nearly 20 years, was appealing against the tribunal's finding she had not been unfairly dismissed by Mr Shaw in September 2005. But the judge this Thursday upheld the decision of the tribunal.

During the tribunal hearing in December 2006, Ms Egan alleged she had been raped by Mr Shaw in September and October 2004, two months before her husband died.
