LIMERICK'S Live 95FM is the most listened to local radio station in the country according to the latest JNLR listenership figures.
The phenomenal achievement by the local station has been compared by its Chief Executive David Tighe to winning a gold medal in the Olympics, and staff at Live 95FM will be celebrating accordingly.

"Limerick's Live 95FM loves Limerick and Limerick loves Limerick's Live 95FM," Mr Tighe told the Limerick Leader.

And Limerick based regional youth radio station, Spin South West, remains top of its listernship chart in its category with 59,000 tuning in every day.

The JNLR figures reveal Limerick's Live 95FM reaches 84 per cent of the total Limerick radio audience every week, which is the highest seven day reach figure of any local or national station in the country.

Neighbouring radio stations such as Radio Kerry secured 72 per cent of their radio audience, Tipp FM and Clare FM enjoyed 66 per cent of their radio audiences.

"The station is a national success story fuelled by a loyal local listenership and a top quality on and off air team," Mr Tighe said. "Despite the increased levels of competition in the broadcasting sector, we have once again improved our performance across the board.
