LIMERICK pro-boxer, Andy Lee is on his way back to Limerick.
Brian Peters Promotions will hold a press conference in King John's Castle in Limerick this Thursday afternoon, where it is expected that Lee's return will be confirmed.
It is understood that the Ladbrokes.com Fight Night will take place in the UL Sports Arena on Saturday July 19.
The Castleconnell middleweight, who turned 24 this Wednesday, will headline the event that will be televised live on RTE2.
On the undercard will be Limerick's second professional boxer - Jamie Power.
A native of Limerick City's Norwood Park, the 27-year-old currently resides with his wife and two kids in Caherconlish.
A former Irish intermediate champion, Power made his pro debut in April on the undercard to Bernard Dunne's return to the ring in the Breaffy House Resort, Castlebar. Power, like Lee learned his trade in St. Francis Boxing Club.
Last February 3,000 spectators packed into the UL Sports Arena to see Andy Lee bring professional boxing to Limerick and Lee delivered a fifth round knockout.
However, in March, the Castleconnell southpaw lost his unbeaten professional record.
The former Olympian was a 1/7 hot favourite to extend his unbeaten run to 16 pro-fights when he made his live ESPN television debut in Connecticut.
However, all went horribly wrong when the referee stopped his bout against Brian Vera in the seventh round.
Lee has spent the last number of months back in training with coach Emanuel Steward in the Kronk Gym in Detroit.
This Thursday Lee will jet back into Limerick from Austria, where he is taking part in a training camp with World heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko.
One week before Lee's return to the ring, Klitschko will defend his heavyweight titles against American Tony Thompson on July 12 at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany.
