LIMERICK will learn this Sunday evening if Dublin or Offaly will provide the opposition on July 12 when they begin their All-Ireland hurling championship qualifier campaign.
The county footballers will also find out their opponents, when both qualifier draws take place live on TV3 at 6.00.
While, the draw is straight forward for Richie Bennis' side, Mickey Ned O'Sullivan's team are one of 16 sides that will enter the football draw.
Along with Limerick, the lineup consists of; Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Longford, Roscommon, Kildare, Tipperary, Meath, Louth, Tyrone, Offaly, Laois, Derry, Westmeath or Dublin and Down or Armagh. The first team drawn will have home venue with the games scheduled for July 19.
July 19 could yet be a busy day for Limerick GAA supporters - if the hurlers advance past whichever of the beaten Leinster semi finalists, they will be back in action on that Saturday, with either Galway or Waterford the likely opponents. After last Sunday's disappointing defeat to Clare in the Munster semi final, Limerick will now have to win five games if they are to go one better than last season and lift the Liam McCarthy Cup.
Management and players met on Monday night for post mortem on the Banner defeat and to plan for the next two weeks.
"We will try and go forward but It wont be easy, but it is our job to do it," said a downbeat Richie Bennis.
"They have had enough of pit falls," said the Limerick manager, when speaking to the Limerick Leader after the defeat in Thurles.
"It will be hard to lift this team now, but we will have to do it."
Bennis added: "It was easier to go through that door last year because we had a good win against Tipp behind us".
The Limerick boss sought no excuses after the five point loss, but was clearly angered by a number of mistakes from his side.
"We held them fairly well in the first-half, but they got two goals - I'd say against the run of play - and they also got two goals in the second-half, which I also thought were against the run of play. Very sloppy goals, the two in the second-half particularly - we were caught ball-watching big time," he sighed.
"But that's the way it goes, they deserved their victory and I wish them well in the Munster final."
Clare's Munster final, their first since 1999, will take place in Limerick's Gaelic Grounds on July 13 against Tipperary.
There is little rest for the Limerick players, with county championship action this weekend with their clubs.
