TONY McGahan remains the favourite for the Munster senior coaching appointment.
The current defensive coach, whose name has also been thrown into the mix for Declan Kidney's Ireland management team for next season, is favourite to hold off the challenge of Mick Bradley for the post while there is also speculation that both Niall
O'Donovan and Anthony Foley may be considered for Munster coaching roles.
O'Donovan and Bradley headed up the management team for Ireland's two-match southern hemisphere tour and it is expected that some IRFU roles will be found for them over the coming two weeks.
If McGahan is appointed head coach of Munster, three Irish provinces will be tied to the reins of Australian-bred coaches with Michael Cheika and Alan Gaffney with Leinster and Matt Williams at Ulster.
While Ireland lost both of their tour games against the All Blacks and Australia, Declan Kidney will have seen enough positives from the displays to boost his confidence as he muses over his squad selections for the November tests against Argentina, Canada and New Zealand.
For Alan Quinlan and Luke Fitzgerald, the tour ended in disappointment with both injured players flown back to Ireland early last week.
The performance of the A team in the Churchill Cup, has been disappointing. They struggled in the first half against the USA Eagles and were well beaten on Saturday night by the English Saxons.
Garryowen's Keith Earls (who joins Young Munster next season) was outstanding against the Saxons, scoring two well-taken tries and with Tomas O'Leary and Frank Murphy also impressing during the tournament, Ireland have no shortage of promising scrum-halves. Brian Tuohy of the Cornish Pirates showed attacking flair while Shannon duo Sean Cronin and Donnacha Ryan were elevated to starting roles on Saturday.
The Munster Rugby Supporters' Club are opening associate membership for the coming season.
Associate members form the waiting list for full membership which has the benefit of entitlement to purchase tickets for home pool Heineken Cup tickets. It also provides priority over public sale for Heineken Cup tickets for away pool games and play off stages. Membership also gives priority for any other Munster knock-out match.
Priority will be given to those with Combined Season Tickets. Cost for the coming season is €30.
To avail of this chance to join the Munster Rugby Supporters Club you can visit www.munsterrugbysupporters.com. Membership closes on July 6, 2008.
