OFFALY will provide the opposition in the qualifiers when Limerick attempt to kick-start their All-Ireland senior hurling championship campaign.
Limerick will have home advantage for the July 12 tie and the Gaelic Grounds will host the game despite the Ennis Road venue hosting the Munster senior hurling championship final between Clare and Tipperary 24 hours later.
The make or break clash with Joe Dooley's side is a repeat of the 2006 qualifier which marked Richie Bennis' first game in charge. When the sides met back in the National League at Tullamore in March Limerick were 5-19 to 1-17 winners. If Limerick overcome The Faithful County they will most likely face Waterford or Galway.
Limerick were boosted over the weekend with Denis Moloney and Brian Geary coming through their respective club matches.
However, Wayne McNamara and Conor Fitzgerald didn't line out for Adare.
Also last evening Limerick were drawn against Meath in round one of the All-Ireland senior football championship qualifiers. Mickey Ned O'Sullivan's side will have home advantage against Colm Coyle's team on July 19. Limerick will be without Fr. Caseys's Thomas Cahill who is out with a broken finger. His Abbeyfeale club-mate Padraig Browne is also a doubt after limping out of a club game over the weekend.
Meanwhile in the Limerick's Live 95FM sponsored county senior hurling championship four teams have booked their place in the quarter finals - Adare, Granagh-Ballingarry, Kilmallock and Doon. They will be joined in the last eight by the winners of round three. Ahane will play East Limerick rivals, Murroe-Boher, while Na Piarsaigh will play Garryspillane, Patrickswell will face Tournafulla, trained by Patrickswell's PJ O'Grady and Croom will play Western Gaels.
The draw for the relegation semi-final was also made last evening in Fitzgerald Park, Kilmallock - Claughaun will play Bruree and Dromin-Athlacca will play Knockainey.
In the Paudie Ryan Catering sponsored county intermediate hurling championship over the weekend there were wins for Knockaderry over Ballybrown, Ballybricken over Mungret, South Liberties over Monaleen, Glenroe over Pallasgreen, Newcastle West over Kildimo, Bruff over Killeedy and Caherline over Patrickswell, while Cappamore and Hospital-Herbertstown finished level.
