PETER Stringer returns to Ireland's starting 15 for Saturday's second test of their two-match tour against Australia.
Also back in favour is Ulster hooker Rory Best who replaces Jerry Flannery with coach Michael Bradley making two changes from the side that started against the All Blacks in Wellington. The Shannon and Munster scrum-half has been out of favour with the national side since the World Cup and he now gets his chance to prove that he is still worthy of the number one spot on the national side. Stringer will be winning his 84th cap, extending his record as the most capped Irish scrum-half of all time.
Luke Fitzgerald and Alan Quinlan are both ruled out with injuries while Jerry Flannery and Eoin Reddan are on the bench. Australia are expected to name their side later today.
Ireland: Rob Kearney; Shane Horgan, Brian O'Driscoll, Paddy Wallace, Tommy Bowe; Ronan O'Gara, Peter Stringer; Marcus Horan, Rory Best, John Hayes; Donncha O'Callaghan, Paul O'Connell; Denis Leamy, David Wallace, Jamie Heaslip. Replacements: Jerry Flannery, Tony Buckley, Mick O'Driscoll, Shane Jennings, Eoin Reddan, Geordan Murphy, Girvan Dempsey.
The game kicks-off at 11.05am Irish time and is being shown live on Sky Sports.
Limerick's Brian Tuohy, currently with the Cornish Pirates, joins five Munster players on the Ireland A side that will play the USA in the Churchill Cup in Kingston, Canada tomorrow.
Also in the starting side are Denis Hurley at full-back, Kieran Lewis and Keith Earls both of Garryowen in the centre and Tomas O'Leary at scrum-half.
Denis Fogarty is hooker while Jonathon Sexton of Leinster is at out-half
In the forwards, the Ireland A captain Bob Casey is partnered in the second row by Ryan Caldwell.
The front row comprises Leinster trio Cian Healy alongside Denis Fogarty and Harlequins' Mike Ross. The back row features the multi-capped experience of Johnny O'Connor, Neil Best and Roger Wilson. There are no places in the side for Shannon trio Donnacha Ryan, Trevor Hogan and Sean Cronin, but all three are named on the bench. That game will be shown on Sky Sports 1 on Wednesday at midnight.

Ian Nagle, Ian Porter, Michael Entwistle, Ian Madigan and Eamon Sheridan will make their first starts of the tournament.
Limerick's Sean Scanlon (UCC) starts on the right wing with Kieran Essex (UL Bohemian) at openside.
